Why Nishi exists.

I built Nishi after watching friends and family start GLP-1 medications and run into the same question, over and over: what am I supposed to eat now?

The old playbook doesn't fit anymore. Calorie counting, generic logging apps, the "eat less of everything" frame. None of it was built for the reality of life on a GLP-1. Hunger changes. Portions shrink. Some days food just sits differently.

Registered dietitians are great, but most people see one eight times a year. The other 357 days, you're standing in your kitchen at 6:30 wondering what to cook with what you have, with the energy you have, with the appetite you have today. That's the gap.

The thing I wanted for the people I love was something that listens. Something that notices when their protein has been low all week. Something that catches the day their sleep was light and gently suggests a softer breakfast. Something that quietly prepares a clean summary they can take to their endocrinologist instead of trying to remember three months of eating in a five-minute appointment.

That's what Nishi is.

It's not a chatbot. It's not a calorie tracker. It's not a weight-loss app or a medical device. It's a companion, one that notices patterns across what's in your kitchen, what your wearables are seeing, and how you're feeling, and helps you act on what it sees.

I think the most important thing about Nishi is what it doesn't do. It doesn't pressure. It doesn't shame. It doesn't sell your data or run on ad clutter. It's quiet, observant, and patient, closer to a thoughtful friend in your corner than another wellness app trying to optimize you.

If you're navigating life on a GLP-1, Nishi is built for you. So is the friend who's pre-diabetic, the parent trying to keep their cholesterol in check, the runner working on energy, anyone who wants to eat well in the real world. The wedge is GLP-1. The companion is for everyone trying to notice what their body has been telling them all along.

Who we're building this with

Building with clinical input.

We're talking with GLP-1 users, registered dietitians, endocrinologists, and behavioral-medicine researchers as we build. Names go here as the formal advisory board comes together.

If you work in metabolic health, GLP-1 care, or nutrition science and want a seat at the table early, we'd love to talk.
